Lou Blonger by Cynthia Mahon-Southern

Lou Blonger was the king of Denver’s underworld.  He ran many gaming houses and was known to bribe judges, police chiefs and other officials with fruit basket gifts from his orchard.  A determined prosecutor and judge finally succeeded in sending him to jail.  After being sentenced in 1924 he died six months into his prison term.
