My choice for President and Vice President are John McCain and Sarah Palin. They bring resolve, honesty, integrity and determination to this campaign. John McCain is the original political maverick standing for what he believed even if it meant disagreement with others in the GOP and most recently with President George W Bush.
McCain's most notable achievement was his service to America as an officer and naval aviator in the Navy from 1958 to 1980. He was imprisoned for five years in the Hanoi Hilton as a POW of the North Vietnamese druing the Vietnam War. He was tortured brutally and had both arms broken numerous times during his captivity. Service to your country doesn't get any more serious than this. Sarah Palin has proven herself as Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska and as Governor of Alaska (since 2006). She is a great reformer, breaking corruption in the Alaskan Republican party, holding oil companies accountable, stopping 'The Bridge to Nowhere' which would have cost Alaskan citizens a huge amount in taxes and giving an oil refund above the usual amount to each Alaskan to help compensate for the high price of gasoline. Both McCain and Palin are true mavericks and hold values I hold dear such as love of country, service, individuality, making government smaller, standing up for what is right even when it is not popular, the value and sanctity of life, energy independence (with drilling in ANWR and offshore) and most of all a safe and powerful United States. Both want to win the war on Terror and keep the United States safe. I write this on the seventh anniversary of 9-11-01 and have ultimate confidence that John McCain and Sarah Palin will keep me and other Americans safe and free from any future terrorist attacks on the United States when they win the presidential election on 11-04-08 and assume office on 1-20-09. |
