Michael Sheridan paid a big price for a small bag of Skittles.
When school administrators caught the eighth-grader buying illicit candy from a classmate at Sheridan Communications and Technology Middle School, the New Haven Register says he "was suspended from school for three days, barred from attending an honors student dinner and stripped of his title of class vice president."
His mother is appealing the punishment, which was also meted out to the sugar pusher.
“It’s too much. It’s too unfair,” Shelli Sheridan tells the Register. “He’s never even had a detention.”
Sheridan faces an uphill battle.
“There are no candy sales allowed in schools, period,” school spokeswoman Catherine Sullivan-DeCarlo tells the paper.
