Cynthia At Celestial Seasonings
Cynthia At Celestial Seasonings

On the morning of Christmas Day 2018 at 10:00 a.m., I (Vern Southern) went in to our bedroom to wake Cynthia up for breakfast.  She had passed away sometime durning the morning.  I last spoke to her around 6:00 a.m.  I asked her when she wanted to be woken up and she told me to just let her sleep in.  She passed away in her sleep, in a warn bed with a cat Princess next to her.  When I go I hope it is something similar.

She was born July 26, 1968 in Englewood, Colorado, the daughter of Larry and Helen Miskimen.

She was a graduate of Brighton High School in Brighton, CO. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Colorado - Denver with a Bachelors degree in History.

On July 22, 2000, she married Vern Southern.

Cynthia was of the Lutheran faith. She was a member of Humane Society, the Denver Dumb Friends League and Blind Cat Rescue in Miami, FL She also supported the Disabled American Veterans and the Salvation Army.

Cynthia was an animal lover and had a soft spot for any animal. Cynthia was a history buff and loved studying about World War II and the Holocaust and reading any book that she could. She spent 2 weeks in Auschwitz while on a trip to Poland. Cynthia also dedicated a Twitter page to her research where she has about 4,000 followers. She also doted on her cat, Princess.

Cynthia is survived by her loving Husband of 18 years, Vern Southern and her cherished cat, Princess.

Cynthia suffered from diabetes for 14 years and that is the suspected cause of death.  I am not doing very well. Cynthia is my whole world and her passing leaves me with no real reason to live except to take care of her final wishes. In discussions we had in the past she told me she wanted to be cremated and have her ashes spread in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.  I will be taking care of that.

Because I am suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, Stage 5, I have been unable to work.  Cynthia's job was our sole source of income and insurance.  Without medical insurance I do not expect to live much longer.  It doesn't really matter because Cynthia was my only reason to live.

Because of my medical expenses and the out-of-pocket costs we had no savings left.  I have no choice but to ask you, her friends for financial help with her final expenses.  I am starting a Go fund me for that help.  I will add the link below.
